SOTA
WELCOME TO THE SEALAB ONLINE ACADEMY (SOTA)
The SEALabHaus Online Training Academy (SOTA) is a training programme that invites learners to become active agents in shaping the future of coastal and marine tourism through the lens of the New European Bauhaus (NEB).
Drawing on the innovative SEALabHaus framework, the course explores how Blue Tourism can be reimagined to align with the core NEB values of sustainability, aesthetics and inclusion.
All are welcome, including educators, tourism professionals, coastal community members or those with an interest in the themes of the project. This short course introduces learners to key concepts with practical examples and invites them to engage with selected tools to add their own experience, enriching the SOTA for future learners. By the end of the course participants should have a clear sense of how NEB values translate into practice and how they can inform more inclusive, creative and sustainable tourism features.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The course has been created in a user-friendly format with a focus on interactive learning. There are 5 Units in total along with a Resource Hub. The course is designed in a vertical layout and the learner simply scrolls down to read content, watch videos, view images and interact with activities like flashcards, knowledge checks or tabs. A sidebar menu facilitates seamless movement between Units and Lessons and there are prompts along the way to complete knowledge questions or offer examples across regions in the Atlantic Area. At the end of the course learners can generate a certificate of completion.
